Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) is a treatment process designed to remove all the liquid waste from a system.

ASPL focus of ZLD is to reduce wasterwater economically and produce clean water that is suitable for reuse (e.g. irrigation), thereby saving money and being beneficial to the environment.

ZLD systems employ advanced wastewater/desalination treatment technologies to purify and recycle virtually all of the wastewater produced.

The ZLD System removes dissolved solids from the wastewater and returns distilled water to the process. ATFD and Multiple effect evaporators reduces the operating and disposal cost of waste. Forced circulation evaporator is more effective as it avoids scaling and due indirect heating there is no dusting and air pollution. Intially volatile organic matter removal to reduce COD followed by MEE to concentrate feed by water evaporation under vacuum. MEE can be forced circulation evaporator of which number of effects decided on evaporation load. Concentrate from MEE dried by ATFD as dried soilds which disposed.
